ABOUT DR. RACHAEL STEWART

With over 15 years of leadership experience, coaching/mentorship, and professional development, Dr. Rachael Stewart has made it her life’s work to empower, guide, support, and motivate others in their leadership journeys.

Dr. Stewart is a leader, educator, coach and speaker who focuses on leadership and organizational performance and outcomes. She has contributed to the field of leadership through her research, academic teaching, and personal and professional leadership development. Early on in her career, she knew it was her life calling to empower individuals in becoming effective leaders of their own lives and within the organizations they lead. Her coaching philosophy is grounded in the belief that leadership starts with self. To become leaders, we must first lead ourselves. She adds, many individuals struggle with leadership not due to a lack of technical skills, but because they lack a leadership identity. Leadership identity refers to the degree to which an individual perceives themselves as a leader. Our values, beliefs, mindsets, and actions are all intertwined with our identity and how we perceive ourselves and others. Through leadership coaching and learning opportunities, we can actualize our leadership identity, learn to lead authentically and effectively, and make a positive impact personally and professionally.

Currently, Dr. Rachael Stewart is a professor and director of academic and career programs at San Diego State University (SDSU), where she received her doctorate degree in educational leadership.
